Moody’s: economic growth of 2.2% and inflation of 3% this year

Moody’s rating agency expects that Romania’s GDP will increase by 2.2% this year, as the EU fund absorption rate is accelerated, and inflation to remain close to the BNR year-end target, to allow for more relaxed monetary policies.

A Moody’s analysis shows that the uncertain economic situation of the eurozone affects Romania’s economic growth via exports.

Inflation rate reached record lows in September and November since 1990, dropping to about 3.4% and dropping to 3% in December. The inflation rate is expected that to remain at the same level this year, Moody’s said.

Moody’s gives Romania the rating Baa3, with a stable prospect, improved by the relatively low state debt level.
